Post 5 The current problem I am having in my Psych class

A problem I am currently having is Psychology and the study of the human brain. I am having a hard time trying to wrap an understanding around the differences between the hippocampus and hypothalamus. According to David Myers and Nathan Dewall authors of the Psychology In Everyday Life textbook they state, "the hippocampus is located  near the neural center located in the limbic system" and "the hypothalamus is located in the neural structure lying below the thalamus." These two are directly next to each other and when looking at the anatomy of the brain I often get them mixed up but as of right now while writing this I am reading the textbook in front of me. Writing the assignment and studying the textbook is making it easier to distinguish the two and now when I remember this problem I just remember this writing assignment.

  1. I took a psychology class last semester and it was a very challenging class for me. In my psychology class, I used to learn about parts of the brain and the sleep cycles and it's confusing. I know how difficult psychology class can be and my advice to you is to spend more studying and ask question to your instructor. Good luck!

  2. I've learned human's body parts for other subjects by identifying them on pictures and that's how I still remember a few of them. I just printed different body pictures with all the organs I wanted to learn but without their names so I had to write it and that's how I memorize the names.
