Post 6: Info I hope to learn from the Professional blog i follow

I plan to learn and have already learned some cool information from the blog about all sorts of physical therapy exercises. I learned about how patients caused harm to themselves and how to help them recuperate properly as well as teaching them how to prevent this from happening again. A lot of the times I see people ego lifting in the gym and then they come back a few weeks later with bandages on saying they had to go to therapy and try the same workout again! They don't see the causation of how they hurt themselves so, I have to explain to them what they are doing is wrong but since I don't have the credentials no one believes me. The blog has a post literally for this scenario and I plan to execute the directions given into the blog the next time someone doesn't believe me.

Post 5 The current problem I am having in my Psych class

A problem I am currently having is Psychology and the study of the human brain. I am having a hard time trying to wrap an understanding around the differences between the hippocampus and hypothalamus. According to David Myers and Nathan Dewall authors of the Psychology In Everyday Life textbook they state, "the hippocampus is located  near the neural center located in the limbic system" and "the hypothalamus is located in the neural structure lying below the thalamus." These two are directly next to each other and when looking at the anatomy of the brain I often get them mixed up but as of right now while writing this I am reading the textbook in front of me. Writing the assignment and studying the textbook is making it easier to distinguish the two and now when I remember this problem I just remember this writing assignment.

Post 4: Group Work

I generally like group work cause it's nice having another set of hands to help but it can be stressful. If one person doesn't contribute to the team than that's more stress on everyone else. I can agree that group work is healthy for team building but I can disagree on the matter of having group work all the time. I don't want to be the reason others have more stress on their shoulders but, I don't want to be that guy who's put in more than 100% and still takes the loss. Unless I have competent teammates I'd prefer to fly solo for the time being.

Post 3: Improving one's online image

Social Media is a powerful tool and everyone's online image portrays themselves to the whole world. A simple post can make or break you so be responsible with your post. Schools and employers check your online profile out and they decide if they want you or not. According to " Discovering and Marketing Your Physical Therapy Niche" by Charlotte Bohnett, she states that finding the right kind of Physical Therapy for you is key. Once found post things that you've done similarly to support where you stand and show what experience you have. These instructions she gives have helped students get into schools and overall looked better as a person. I intend to go to a school that  has a Physical Therapy program and one key thing that they check that aren't just grades are student social media accounts. If you are responsible and post public appropriate content to your social media than you are in the clear but, if you post yourself drinking and partying the chances of maki...

Post 2: Writing Myths

I used to think that you had to have a complete paper rough draft that was absolutely perfect. I thought I was supposed to have it all figured out before I write on the paper but, little did I know that "writers figure out what they want to write as they write it," stated by Lennie Irvin. In school they always taught us to to have everything prepared either in our head or on a separate sheet of paper before we started our rough draft. It was difficult to write like this since the older I got the teachers and professors started wanting more from me with less time to prep. The outcome of the paper would be jumbled up and hard to read. I notice I would change my writing many times but after reading Irvin's myths it makes sense why we shouldn't have everything planned out as it just naturally comes to us instead. Now I no longer believe in this myth of starting my writing once everything is figured out.

Post 1: My Online Image

My Online appearance portrays only portrays half of what I do with my life. If you look at my Social Media all you will see is a guy that always take pictures with friends and the occasional gym pic. Sounds like someone that doesn't stick out much to become a doctor. If you employers look closely you'll see a guy with an awkward smile having a great time with his friends and their friendly gestures. Those gym pics seen on my profile are just mental rewards for reaching my goals. I'm sure if employers see the deeper meaning behind the pictures portraying my determination I have in those pics they'll think better of me.

Brian Pham Introduction

Welcome everyone! My name is Brian Pham and I am currently majoring in Health Sciences. My objective for this semester is to pass this class with flying colors and I hope everyone has somewhat a similar goal. I've started making changes to my work ethics so that I could be more consistent with doing my assignments on time and not cramming the night before. I'm looking forward to working with you all and let us finish this semester strong.
