Post 14: Gun Control

Gun control has been very big over the past few years. The amount of shootings in the U.S. have increased tremendously these past few years and it is ridiculous. People have been protesting all over the country for stricter gun control but our president has just been overlooking it. According to CNN, " Trump again, brought up his support for raising the age of gun purchases from 18 to 21, though he didn't specifically say he would sign a bill that includes that provision." Our president is hardly listening to the people or the senate unless it goes his way. Two of the senators came up with a duo bill for stricter gun control but Pres. Trump just shrugged it off because it didn't raise the age of gun purchases.

Post 13: Freedom of Speech in the U.S.

Everyone's opinion on any topic makes it hard to believe one another is "right" when there are no facts backing them up. Finding a resolution is difficult when no one wants to come to a conclusion unless it follows along the lines of their opinion. These discussions start of civil but by the time it's about to end it becomes a heated battle that isn't worth arguing anymore but people are too stubborn and have to keep going. These discussions never become productive so like people aren't worth discussing about.

Post 12: MLA Format

The most confusing part to me about MLA format is why do we learn MLA format? I've heard from upperclassmen and adults with working jobs that they didn't need MLA but instead they told me they had to use APA format instead. I don't have a problem with MLA because I find it easy to use and learn but I want to know why companies don't accept MLA but instead APA or some other format.

Post 11: Exploring Procrastination

Let's be honest we all procrastinate and pretend it's fine but really it sneaks up on you and get's you when we're already stressed out. We all make excuses for any assignment we have to do either in school or at home. Adam Siscinki states, "Sometimes it’s just not the right time to take action. However, more often than not this is just a lame excuse that highlights you lack perspective and understanding." He is right we do make this excuse too many times. This is probably the most relatable excuse and Siscinki tells us how we can stop making up such an excuse and how to help ourselves in his post.  https://blog.iqmatrix.com/a-life-of-excuses

Post 10: Exercise

Exercise has been my passion and a healthy hobby that I have invested in for the past two years. I started the summer before my junior year started in high school. I had relatives come visit me and then talked me into trying some of the workouts they did and showing me how to properly do them for maximum results. I loss ten percent body fat the results I had were incredible. I kept working out and joined a weight lifting class to help me become stronger. For Christmas my parents got me a gym membership and from their on I learned more types of workouts from personal trainers and power lifters. As of today I still keep working out even with my busy schedule I try to find an open time to devote to the gym so I don't lose all the progress I have made over the past two years. I plan to keep exercising until my body can no longer function properly and to keep spreading fitness knowledge to others who plan on trying to workout.

Post 9: Analyzing Teachers as primary audience for your academic papers

Teachers why are they our primary audience? To be quite frank it's simple they teach us how to write academically and then we attempt to write academically. Teachers then grade us based on how well we are at mimicking academic writers and tell us where we messed up and how we can fix our mistakes to become scholarly writers.

Post 8: Credentials of the professional blog I follow

The professional blog I follow is a legitimate physical therapy and health care blog. Their members are all certified in either physical therapy or health care and services. For example: "The President/CEO Dr. Larry Benz is also included in other large physical therapy programs such as Texas Physical Therapy and ProRehab Louisville" (Evidence in Motion). He's a big shot in the Physical Therapy field and is nationally recognized in private practice physical therapy and occupational medicine. He co-owns this blog with Mr. George Burkley who is a Master of Business Administration and CEO of Evidence in Motion. They both run the blog and they only hire professionals with the proper credentials to join the team and allow them to post informational practices and ideas.

Post 7: Something important in my world

Health is very important in my life. I used to not care about my health and let my immune system stay weak while I did nothing about it. I was constantly sick with either a running nose or bad cough that I was just a "mouth breather."  The summer before my junior year of high school I went on a cruise and joined a teens club and that changed my life completely. I was constantly moving on the ship and no matter how much I ate I wasn't gaining weight but instead losing weight. I noticed I was able to smell the salty sea and my throat wasn't raspy from coughing and not drinking water. After the cruise I started doing home workouts and running I noticed i had loss ten pounds of fat and wasn't having a hard time breathing. Since then I have prioritized my health over most things in life and rarely get sick.
